Drilling technology solutions provider Rosond reiterates its commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment for all employees, especially women. In celebration of Women’s Day on 9 August, the company is proud to profile a dedicated team member Lee-Ann Nichol, whose journey at Rosond exemplifies the strength, versatility, and resilience of women in the workplace.
Lee-Ann serves as an Executive Assistant at Rosond, a role she has embraced with passion and dedication. She is responsible for a wide range of administrative duties, from preparing board packs for meetings to managing small maintenance contracts, courier services, and events. She also oversees reception and has two team members reporting to her.
Lee-Ann holds an Office Administration Diploma, an MDP (Management Development Programme) Diploma, and an Advanced Executive Assistants Certificate. She began her career at Rosond in 2010 as a Personal Assistant and has since flourished under the guidance of Rosond MD Ricardo Ribeiro. Her confidence and decision-making abilities have grown, allowing her to excel in her role and find immense satisfaction in her career.
“Rosond has given me the platform to thrive in my career. With the support and guidance of our leadership, I have been able to develop my skills and confidence, making every day at work fulfilling. I am inspired by the incredible women in my life and believe that with the right support, women can achieve anything they set their minds to,” says Lee -Ann.
Balancing work and personal life is a crucial aspect of Lee-Ann’s approach. She emphasises the importance of taking breaks, setting boundaries between work and personal time, and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Her passion for her job stems from her dedication to assisting executives and making their lives easier. Lee-Ann’s joy comes from interacting with colleagues and stakeholders, fostering a family-like environment at Rosond.
She encourages young girls to pursue careers in administration, highlighting the versatility and resourcefulness that come with the role. She advises them to always be prepared to help and serve others, no matter how small the task may seem.
Reflecting on Women’s Day, Lee-Ann draws inspiration from her late mother and grandmothers, who were role models of strength, dignity, and beauty. She believes that women have the power to achieve anything they set their minds to, celebrating Women’s Day as a reminder of the strength and capability inherent in every woman.
“At Rosond, we are committed to creating a workplace that champions diversity and inclusion, even as we continue to develop and formalise our policies in these areas. We believe that every woman’s contribution is invaluable, and we strive to provide an environment where all employees can thrive,” says Lee-Ann.
The following quote from Marianne Williamson truly motivates Lee-Ann: “Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and fabulous? Playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you.”
