Leading drilling and exploration specialist Rosond is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Adwoa Boaduo as Group Head of Safety, effective November 2025. A seasoned professional engineer with over 14 years’ experience in mining, safety, and geotechnical engineering, Dr. Boaduo brings a wealth of strategic leadership and technical expertise to the Rosond team.
She joins Rosond from Gold Fields’ South Deep Mine, where she served as Unit Manager: Safety, contributing towards the digital transformation of safety systems and the integration of smart safety and risk management tools across one of the world’s largest and deepest underground mechanised mines.
Her distinguished career includes key roles at Petra Diamonds, SRK Consulting, and Anglo American Platinum, as well as industry-wide leadership through the Minerals Council South Africa’s MOSH Learning Hub, where she contributed to a national 88% reduction in Fall of Ground fatalities in 2022.
Dr. Boaduo holds a PhD in Mining Engineering from the University of the Witwatersrand, along with MSc and BSc degrees in Mining Engineering. She is a registered Professional Engineer (ECSA) and an active member of several professional bodies, including the South African Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (SAIMM) and the South African National Institute of Rock Engineering (SANIRE).
At Rosond, Dr. Boaduo will oversee the company’s health and safety strategy and implementation, lead digital innovation in safety management, and strengthen contractor integration and risk management practices across all operations.
“We are delighted to welcome Dr. Boaduo to Rosond’s leadership team. Her appointment marks an important milestone in our commitment to building a culture of excellence and innovation in safety,” comments Rosond CEO Glen McGavigan.
Dr. Boaduo’s leadership in digital transformation, data-driven risk management, and contractor safety integration aligns perfectly with Rosond’s vision of achieving Zero Harm through technology and collaboration. “Her combination of strategic insight and technical depth will be invaluable as we continue to modernise our operations and set new benchmarks for safety performance across the mining sector,” concludes McGavigan.
