Skil junior brand manager Taahir Suliman states that ever since Skil invented the circular saw in 1924, the company continues to focus on increasing value for its customers by continuously improving on the quality and performance of its tools.

“Hence we have replaced our current 65 mm Skil saw offers with even more attractive alternatives, namely; the 5665 and 5765 circular saws. The 5665 circular saw is targeted at DIY enthusiast who requires a large, quality circular saw for occasional use in and around the home; to complete straightforward home improvement and renovation jobs,” he says.

Suliman indicates that the main factors for a smooth cut with clean finish are number of teeth and revolutions per minute (rpm). The 1250 W motor delivers 5000 rpm, while 24-tooth hardened steel saw blade results in an exceptionally smooth cut that will exceed the target user’s requirements in both durability and cutting result. The Skil 5665 can achieve 65 mm sawing capacity at 90°, and 43 mm at 45°.

Suliman indicates that the 5765 circular saw is targeted at the convenience-oriented pragmatic DIY user looking for a powerful and durable circular saw that makes any home job easier. “This consumer will use the tool more intensively, cutting everything from planks to beams.”

The 5765 circular saw comes complete with an 18-tooth carbide tipped saw blade that ensures great durability and smooth cut, even during intensive use. The Skil 5765 circular saw is powered by a 1350 W motor with 5000 rpm. It also boasts a 65 mm sawing capacity at 90°, and 43 mm at 45°.

The Skil 5665 and 5765 circular saws can be used in a number of home projects, ranging from the construction of garden sheds and fencing, to laying floors and even kitchen assembly. Common applications are cutting beams, planks, board material and flooring.

According the Suliman, the Skil 5665 and 5765 circular saws are both equipped with a 90° base adjustment screw. This distinctly silver plated screw located behind the bevel scale makes it possible to accurately set the angle of the base plate in relation to the saw blade.

Moreover, both Skil 5665 and 5765 circular saws come standard with upgraded features for improved operability, including; dust-sealed ball bearings, a saw line visor, 45° bevel and 65 mm plunge cut hinges, and an integrated vacuum cleaner adapter.

“Sealed ball bearings protect against dust for improved durability, and an integrated dust port allows for easy dust suction with any vacuum cleaner. What’s more, the saw line visor ensures quicker and easier sawing, while helical gears maintain strength with less noise. These new-and-improved features make the Skil 5665 and 5765 ideal for numerous DIY tasks,” Suliman concludes.
