Skil junior brand manager Taahir Suliman states that the tool is powered by an 850 W motor, and boasts three functions, namely; hammer drilling, hammer stop for regular drilling, and rotation stop for chiselling. “It features a drilling capacity of up to 24 mm in concrete, 40 mm in wood and 13 mm in steel. What’s more, it allows for effortless chiselling in concrete and masonry too.”

According to Suliman, drill and bit changing is fast and simple thanks to an SDS+ chuck system, which allows for easy accessory change without the need for specialised tools. “For optimally controlled drilling in a wide range of materials, the Skil 1762 also features a variable speed trigger and speed pre-selection dial wheel, as well as a forward/reverse function,” he continues.

The 1762 provides effective protection against overload, thanks to a built-in safety clutch, which acts immediately if a bit gets jammed, while a lock-on button allows for convenient and continuous operation. An easy to adjust depth gauge also allows for accurate pre-setting of the drilling depth for blind holes.

For increased user comfort, an ergonomic pistol grip handle and side handle are shaped with soft grip surface for optimal comfort, and the side handle is fully-rotatable for the most comfortable two-handed working. These benefits make the Skil 1762 rotary hammer an ideal gift choice this Father’s Day, which is being celebrated on Sunday, 21 June, 2015.
