PRESS RELEASE

New range of wireless screwdrivers launched in South Africa

19 May, 2014:A new range of Deprag wireless screwdrivers has been launched by Dowson and Dobson Industrial - a market leading supplier of a comprehensive range of world class industrial products and after sales service solutions.

Deprag is an internationally renowned supplier of screwdriver technology, automation, air motors and air tools. Dowson and Dobson assembly technology manager Herman Parsons notes that the new MINIMAT-EC-Cordless Nutrunner and Pistolgrip screwdriver series has been developed for use in the automotive industry for screwing and bolting.

"The new range of screwdrivers consists of three different pistolgrip tools, and feature a speed selection function which ranges from 30 rpm to 1500 rpm, while offering the user a torque range of between 0,8 Nm and 13 Nm.”

The MINIMAT-EC-Cordless Nutrunner and Pistolgrip screwdrivers offer many benefits to the user. Parsons continues: “These screwdrivers are flexible and operator friendly, making them easy-to-use. They feature a powerful motor, with high shut-off accuracy for increased precision. The MINIMAT-EC-Cordless Nutrunner and Pistolgrip screwdrivers are energy efficient, thanks to a 36V lithium-Ion battery which offers the user high energy density.”

Parsons explains that safety is an important consideration in the automotive industry, and a challenge is the recording of data on safety critical components. “The new Deprag MINIMAT-EC-Cordless Nutrunner and Pistolgrip screwdrivers have a shut-off accuracy function, thereby ensuring that the margin for error is diminished. This meets the quality standards which are required in the automotive industry.”

The screwdrivers make use of Bluetooth technology to transmit and receive data from a base station. The base station features a user-friendly interface which allows for the fast and simple production of screwdriving sequences. “The base station allows for up to four screwdrivers to be connected at any given time. It transmits the required screwdriver settings to the tool, as well as receives and stores data received from the screwdriver.”

According to Parsons, there is room for growth within the automotive industry. “The Deprag MINIMAT-EC-Cordless Nutrunner and Pistolgrip screwdriver series is easy-to-use and meets the highest standards of the automotive industry. Deprag has been supplying equipment to this industry for many years and has enjoyed great success. I believe that we can expand our market share in the automotive industry through this new range,” he concludes.
