Voith Aquatarder SWR

The Voith Aquatarder SWR, winner of the European Transport Sustainability Award and ECW Innovation Label Award, is the world’s first secondary retarder that uses water for braking. It is eco-friendly, with 80% less brake dust emissions, low weight, and a compact design (50% less installation space than its predecessor, and 35 kg lighter).

The Voith Aquatarder SWR does not require oil or coolant changes, as it uses the engine's own coolant as its operating medium, and therefore is completely maintenance free.

As Turkey continues to adopt European emission limits – the EURO 6 standard is now mandatory for all new vehicles in Turkey registered from 1 January 2016 – the demand for eco-friendly and fuel-efficient vehicles continues to rise as well.

DIWA.6 automatic transmission

The new DIWA.6 automatic transmission has been developed in response to even the strictest emission requirements. Over 200 000 buses worldwide, with 3 500 of them in Turkey, feature DIWA transmissions from Voith.

Compared with its predecessor, the DIWA.6 can save almost an additional 5% fuel thanks to its automatic shift into neutral (ANS) function combined with intelligent start-up management. This prevents starting against the active service brake. The transmission stays in neutral for longer and starting on level routes is more comfortable.

Low fuel consumption, low noise and carbon dioxide emissions, and up to 50% fewer gear shifts compared to other transmissions, and higher driving comfort, have convinced bus operators around the world to choose DIWA transmissions.

Voith retarder

The Voith retarder is synonymous with wear-free continuous braking in trucks and buses. It provides maximum safety and high braking performance at any speed range.

Numerous additional advantages, such as low maintenance, reduction of vehicles operating cost, comfort driving and low dust and noise make it a safe and high-performance endurance braking system.

Voith Retarder Clutch VIAB

The Voith Retarder Clutch VIAB offers maximum benefit without compromise, with powerful start-up and safe braking, manoeuvring, standstill, creep speed or driving with loads up to 250 t.

This is a completely new wear-free start-up and braking system with a fill-regulated, hydrodynamic fluid coupling as the main component. The VIAB combines hydrodynamic starting and hydrodynamic braking in one system. In addition to high comfort availability, one VIAB model suits various engine versions.

Voith air compressors showcased at COMVEX 2016 are also suitable for the new EURO-6 engines. Produced with aluminum lightweight design, the two-stage compressors are a series feature of Daimler, MAN and Volvo coaches. Voith air compressors provide extended duty cycles up to 85%, low emission operation, allow higher pressure level in excess of 15 bar and save up to 1 litre/100 km of diesel.
