PMR.africa hosted the event at a breakfast function on 13 May at the Killarney Country Club in Johannesburg. The awards function was attended by companies representing various businesses involved in the construction industry.

This included quantity surveyors, cement manufacturers, architects, brick manufacturers and consulting engineers. Guests were addressed by keynote speaker Dr Arnau van Wyngaard. The research results and awards were presented by Johan Hattingh, CEO of PMR.africa.

SMEC South Africa was awarded three first overall Diamond Arrow awards for Civil Consulting Engineers, Structural Consulting Engineers and Combined Civil & Structural Consulting Engineers.

COO Dr Thomas Marshall, engineer Elandri Boshoff and business development manager Ayanda Zaca accepted the awards on behalf of SMEC South Africa.

Awards were based on in-depth market research results from within the different industries, and hence reflected clients’ perceptions of companies.

“SMEC South Africa is very proud to have been honoured by the construction industry in this manner,” commented Dr Marshall.
