Perry, who has a B.Sc. Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Natal (now the University of KwaZulu-Natal), is also a professional engineer (Pr Eng). He cites his passion for engineering and hard work as the main drivers to his career success.

“I have been fortunate to work in both the manufacturing and mining sectors as an engineer and manager. A significant portion of my working experience has been in the application, monitoring and design of industrial gears, which will stand me in good stead for the requirements at SEW-EURODRIVE,” he says.

Perry spent a period of four years in Botswana and is well versed in the harsh working conditions under which units need to function. “I hope to build on from the good foundation that has been laid and work to improve the efficiency and service delivery of our operations,” he concludes.
