Select PPE divestiture and split from MSA Africa is finalised
20 June 2016: Following three years of talks and negotiations, the divestiture of MSA Africa’s former standalone business unit, Select PPE, was officially finalised on 29 February 2016. As from the end of February 2016, Select PPE is owned and operated by a new owner.
MSA Africa director Colin Oliver highlights the fact that this marks the final phase of the complete separation of the Select PPE business. “Select PPE no longer falls under the MSA umbrella, due to the fact that our core business strategies are not aligned.”
MSA Africa focuses on developing core safety products that protect people’s health and safety, while Select PPE is a multiple brand distributor of consumable PPE solutions. Oliver stresses that customer service will not be compromised in any way whatsoever.
“There will be no disruptions with regards to product supply and after-sales service, as Select PPE moved from MSA Africa’s premises to its own separate facilities in September 2014. Although there is a change of ownership, the business model at Select PPE will be largely unaffected,” he adds.
Oliver points out that customers can still enjoy access to multiple brand offerings through Select PPE, including MSA products. “We remain committed to providing support to Select PPE and its end-users of MSA Africa products,” he concludes.
