Designed specifically for the professional trades, the Milwaukee M12™ BPRT not only simplifies the overall riveting process, but rivets twice as fast and with far less muscle effort than required by hand tools, Milwaukee Product Specialist Werner Koch highlights.
The Milwaukee M12™ BPRT is the industry’s first rivet tool that uses a scotch yolk mechanism for dramatically improved tool performance, versus the traditional ball-and-screw mechanisms of other rivet tools. The scotch yolk mechanism is much smaller, allowing the tool to deliver a huge amount of force in a more compact and shorter package.
“The technology behind the M12™ system is a viable replacement for such outdated solutions, without compromising on power or functionality,” Koch adds. In addition, as part of the M12™ system, this tool is compatible with the wide range of sub-compact tools available on the platform.
Powered by M12™ REDLITHIUM-ION™ batteries, the tool can rivet over 325 stainless steel rivets (4.8 mm in size). The battery pack delivers more work per charge, as well as more work over pack life, maintaining power under load.
With a capacity of 2.4 mm, 3.2 mm, 4 mm, and 4.8 mm, the tool can rivet a range of materials, including aluminium, steel, and stainless steel. REDLINK™ Intelligence hardware and software integrates full-circle communication between the tool, battery, and charger for added protection from overloading, overheating, and over-discharging.
Whereas other non-powered hand tools of this type require the end user to apply force consistently with both hands, the single trigger engagement of the M12™ BPRT significantly reduces the muscle effort required to complete a rivet. The overall reduction in force and muscle effort may help decrease user injuries as a result.
For added utility, the M12™ BPRT features a retention nosepiece to keep the rivet in place during application, as well as on-tool nosepiece storage and a quick-exchange front end for quick access and easy nosepiece replacement.
