18 August 2020

“If you rent a machine from us for a month we will cover operator costs for five days. If you rent the machine for six months it will be 35 days. At one year your total operator costs will be covered for 75 days,” according to National Rental Manager Siviwe Gushu.

“This is our way of trying to help our clients because we understand the economic difficulties that we are currently operating in,” comments Gushu. The campaign also aims to improve employment opportunities for operators. “Everyone knows that you can only keep an operator if you have a site to work on. We are just trying to do our bit to carry some of those costs for our clients in order to assist them with their projects and margins.”

The national campaign represents a major cost-saving for Bobcat clients. It covers popular equipment such as skidsteer loaders, telehandlers and TLBs. Operator hours are only covered during the regular working week and exclude weekends.

Gushu was appointed National Rental Manager with effect from mid-March. The appointment is an important part of Bobcat’s commitment to cater for the requirements of essential-service clients during the national lockdown. This includes coal-mining clients supplying electricity utility Eskom and clients in the food-and-beverage industry.

Bobcat has ensured that a sufficient stock of rental machines is available at all times. “Customers will increasingly look to rental as a solution for business continuity as opposed to buying new equipment,” concludes Gushu.
