Reliable Orbimatic automatic programming can generate welding parameters by simply inputting the tube diameter, wall thickness, material and welding gas.

Over 5 000 welding programs can be stored, with the added benefit of on-the-fly adjustment of welding parameters during the welding process itself.

In addition, a new ‘Flow Force’ feature means that the arch gas rate is adjustable. This allows pre-purge times to be reduced to seven seconds on enclosed weld heads.

An optional BUP Control Module allows the internal purge pressure to be optimised during the weld cycle, thus compensating the sinking of the welding pool. The PSS Pro-Service System allows for a simple functional test with no need to open the unit.

Part of the Actum Group, Actum Industrial has clinched the Southern African agency for Orbitalum Tools GmbH, a global leader in orbital tube and pipe preparation and orbital welding technology for industrial piping systems, prefabrication and maintenance.

Actum Industrial encompasses industrial products, instrumentation, pneumatics and professional tooling. Together with Actum Electronics, it forms part of the larger Actum Group. “We have gradually evolved from being a component supplier to being able to offer integrated solutions,” director Kevin Klaff comments.
