Next-generation receiving and dispatch software suite takes the weight off logistics operations

6 June 2019
Ensuring that the correct driver and vehicle is permitted to deliver and gain access to your premises is an important safety and security consideration. This is now possible with AccessX, which forms part of the next-generation WBX receiving and dispatch software. The suite of software products is aimed at optimising and automating the entire weighbridge-centric product movement process.

Comprising a complete end-to-end solution, the weighbridge software suite includes CaseX for planning, SPX for bulk inventory, stockpile and quality management, AccessX for identification and access, and WBX for fulfilment. Hence the entire process of receiving and dispatching products over a weighbridge can be managed seamlessly and effortlessly, Dariel Software Solutions Executive Director Greg Vercellotti comments.

Apart from the software suite itself, WBX offers a range of professional services, from business analysis to architecture and design, development, integration, testing, and support and maintenance. This means that solutions can be tailored for specific requirements in industries as diverse as mining, manufacturing, logistics, waste management, agriculture, food and beverage, and road management.

Current blue-chip clients include the likes of Tongaat Hulett, Anglo American, African Rainbow Minerals, Road Development Agency, Foodcorp, National Foods, Eskom, Mbuyelo Coal, FPT, and the Boulder Group.

The WBX software suite itself is available in various highly configurable iterations, including an integrated enterprise and a standard version, with the latest iteration being 4.6. “The WBX weighbridge software suite is configured to your specific business requirements,” Vercellotti stresses.

WBX has been designed specifically to cater for multiple business processes that converge at the weighbridge. These include workflows relating to road and rail deliveries and dispatches, waste management, raw material and finished goods, the supply chain, and axle load and ordinance enforcement.

A major benefit is that fraud is reduced significantly as all transactions are not only auditable, but integrated into appropriate security systems for quick retrieval of video records. The fourth-generation engine delivers tailored and highly-accurate reporting, based on a user-friendly interface. In addition, the software suite allows for full automation, which drastically reduces the turnaround time of trucks in the yard and across the weighbridge.
