I have an OD ETDP and Short-Term Insurance Qualification. I have extensive Short-Term Insurance and Learning and Development experience..

5) How did you first get involved in KBC Health & Safety’s work?
I was employed by KBC as an Instructional Designer part of the L&D Team in 2011. I designed and developed learning content for Instructor-led Training and Online Training. One of my first major projects was working on the content for Anglo American Induction - Single Standard.
In 2013 I was appointed as Innovation Manager when the team went through a re-structure. We are a small team consisting of two Instructional Designers and a Multimedia Designer.
We have grown over the years and look forward to achieving great things in the future! Currently we are working on new exciting Microlearning and Virtual Reality products to assist our clients and employees to work safer and retain critical knowledge in their journey to achieve NO Harm.
6) What was the field of safety like when you first started with KBC Health & Safety?
Safety first has always been the core focus area to achieve a NO Harm culture for generations to come. The importance of hazard identification and risk assessments when performing major high-risk tasks is the golden thread in our courses. Since I have been working at KBC I have become a lot more safety conscious and constantly reiterate the importance of health and safety to my family.
7) In looking back, have you seen many changes in the field over those years?
Yes definitely. The Coronavirus pandemic has also hugely affected society as a whole and many more people are aware of health and safety protocols now and the importance of health, hygiene and safety risks, not just in the workplace but everywhere. The role of safety leadership is vital to ensure safe application of COVID-19 working practices and needs to be integrated and promoted within general risk management systems and processes.
