Launched in 1998, Hobby-X has established a reputation as the leading hobby and craft exhibition on the continent, attracting visitors from Africa, and even as far afield as the US, UK, and Europe. “It’s the ideal platform for us to showcase our unique hobby and craft product range, including our latest product, FrogzEggz®,” says Pratley National Sales & Marketing Manager Mark Bell.

The Kraftex range from Pratley includes products for craft and decoupage enthusiasts, including a handy starter kit containing all you need to embark on a wonderful journey of creative discovery. The Kraftex Pratliglo® Starter Kit includes Kraftex Pratliglo® (200 ml), Kraftex Varnish, a tray, two mixing cups (one plain and one graded), a foam and a bristle brush, Kraftex Decoupage Sealant (250 ml), acrylic paint, two mixing sticks, and a pair of polythene gloves.

Pratley will also use Hobby-X as a platform to showcase their exciting new FrogzEggz® hand mouldable plastic that’s taken off in a big way since being launched late last year. DIYers, arts-and-crafters, cosplay fanatics, teachers, and schoolchildren will let their imaginations run wild to come up with even more clever, inventive, and off-the-wall ideas for the product.

The name FrogzEggz® is derived from the opaque, granular plastic material that, after being heated in hot water, clumps together to form a transparent, pliable mass that resembles frogs’ eggs. It can then be shaped into a range of objects, from jewellery to glow-in-the-dark figurines, and even costume accessories. “The creative possibilities offered by this amazing product are literally limitless,” Bell remarks.

The granular FrogzEggz® material is heated to 60°C in hot water for it to start becoming a malleable soft plastic. It will be ready for use in about a minute, as indicated by a colour change from opaque to transparent. Once set, it can even be sawn, drilled, pigmented, and painted.
