The word ‘cosplay’ combines costume and play, and references a growing global trend for fans to dress up as their favourite characters from movie franchises and science fiction and fantasy television shows. Comic Con organiser Reed Exhibitions reports that cosplay is becoming increasingly popular in South Africa.

This year’s Comic Con featured a Cosplay Central, a central hub for fans to gather and interact with special guests, as well as show off their own costume creations. Given the amount of time and effort that serious cosplayers often put into their outfits, they are always on the lookout for that special something to give them an edge over the competition.

Here is where Kraftex FrogzEggz® from Pratley truly comes into its own. This completely biodegradable, hand-mouldable plastic can be used to make any number of accessories or components, from bracelets to leglets, headgear, weapons and countless other superhero paraphernalia. Fans were able to interact with Pratley staff at its stand. A special social media campaign preceded the exhibition, focused on a competition.

“Following the product’s massive popularity at the Vodacom rAge Expo 2018, we were very excited to showcase FrogzEggz® at Comic Con 2019. We did loads of demos, as well as selling product direct from our stand. Our FrogzEggz® specialists were on hand to help fans take their creativity to the next level,” Pratley National Sales Manager Mark Bell concludes.
