PRESS RELEASE

DPI Plastics to unveil latest products, apps at Plumbdrain

24 August 2016: DPI Plastics, a leading manufacturer of PVC and HDPE water reticulation and drainage pipe and fitting systems, will display its comprehensive product range at Plumbdrain Africa 2016, co-located with Interbuild Africa, from 17 to 20 August at Expo Centre Nasrec in Johannesburg.

Plumbdrain Africa 2016, a dedicated plumbing, drainage, sanitation, water, sanitaryware and plumbing engineering exhibition, is the largest event of its kind in Africa. The event covers all facets of plumbing, from the commercial to the industrial sectors, including standard domestic plumbing products and services.

“We have been a longstanding exhibitor at this prestigious event, as it represents all of the key markets that our building products are utilised in,” DPI Plastics Marketing Manager Martine Goodchild comments.

Plumbdrain Africa has a reputation for showcasing the latest innovations in products and services, with a particular focus on ‘green’ technologies and solutions. Seminars and workshops disseminate first-hand information on new products and solutions in the plumbing industry, as well as highlighting the latest quality standards and updated legislation.

DPI Plastics is a founding member of the Southern African Plastic Pipe Manufacturers’ Association (SAPPMA). “We are committed to adhering to the latest local and international standards in terms of environmental awareness and sustainability,” Goodchild stresses.

The manufacturer is also a member of the Institute of Plumbing South Africa (IOPSA). IOPSA, in turn, is affiliated to the World Plumbing Council (WPC), which will hold its global conference and exhibition in Cape Town from 15 to 16 September 2016.

DPI Plastics will also be a key exhibitor at the 11th World Plumbing Conference & Exhibition. “We have been an active participant in the WPC’s World Plumbing Day initiatives, as well as contributing to various water conservation awareness initiatives in South Africa,” Goodchild highlights.

The latest developments at DPI Plastics include various capital-intensive projects to boost the quality and productivity at its Johannesburg and Bellville manufacturing facilities. These include an ongoing mould replacement programme in Johannesburg.

The programme has seen the production of a brand-new mould for 50 mm bend pipe fittings. DPI Plastics has also taken delivery of its new P-trap mould from Portugal, in addition to adding a second large-bore extrusion line at its Johannesburg manufacturing facility. This follows on from the installation of the original Krauss Maffei 630 mm bore extrusion line in 2013.

“Plumbdrain Africa 2016 is an important platform for us to connect with our customers. We will showcase our comprehensive product range, in addition to some new innovations such as our latest apps,” Goodchild reveals.

DPI Plastics will unveil its latest corporate video, in addition to holding daily product demonstrations. “We will have a full team at our stand to answer all customer queries, and to give any expert advice or technical information that may be required,” she concludes.
