Here the Bobcat HB880 breaker is a perfect fit for a range of carriers, from skidsteers to compact track loaders, thanks to the Bob-Tach™ mounting system, an innovation that has subsequently become an industry standard. The loader X-Change mounting frame, on the other hand, allows for a rapid change-out from a loader to an excavator mount.

The Bobcat HB880 breaker has been designed with the most demanding applications in mind, according to National Sales Manager Brian Rachman. In addition, reduced maintenance and increased reliability are key customer requirements.

The innovative design of the breaker has taken into account ease of mounting, versatility, and maximum productivity. The Bobcat HB880 features an ergonomic and compact design, a reinforced tool, the latest in dust protection, and easy-to-access wear parts.

An energy chamber with a diaphragm is positioned at the top of the piston, thereby ensuring consistent nitrogen pressure and best performance. Maintenance is simplified, while no periodic recharging is required, unlike piston-sealed systems without diaphragms. This means that the breaker is operational as soon as it is mounted on the carrier.

An automatic pressure regulator ensures that the Bobcat HB880 breaker operates at optimum pressure, providing best performance regardless of flow variations, carrier back pressure, or temperature changes. Not only is excessive pressure limited at start-up, but the energy-chamber diaphragm itself is protected.

Another outstanding feature are the upper and lower shock absorbers that effectively isolate the breaker from its housing, reducing the noise and vibrations transmitted to the operator. A highlight of the breaker design is the absence of tie rods, with a simple clip for both the retaining pin and bushing, for easy on-site removal. The breaker point can be removed quickly with a single multi-purpose tool, while the clip also protects the grease nipple.
