BI appoints Business Development Leader for wholesale and retail sector
Shepherd’s remit is to expand BI’s market share on the cash side of the business, which represents a significant growth opportunity. “I will oversee, and interact with, all of the branches in order to increase cash sales by means of expanding the product basket on offer. Our goal is to offer our customers more of an engineering shop type experience, so it generates repeat business,” she explains.
The product basket at the various branches will be tailored according to that region’s specific requirements and customer base. With 22 years’ industry experience, Shepherd has gained significant market and industry knowledge that stands her in good stead in her new role.
“I like to be part of a team, and to lead by example. Thus it is very important to set a good example. I try to motivate my staff by being positive at all times,” Shepherd stresses. She adds that the recent restructuring at BI has renewed its core focus, which is customer service excellence.
“We have a new structure and a new team in place. The BDLs and Product Managers together with the Management team that is orientated and dedicated to ensure we offer customer focus, efficient customer shopping experience and service levels,” Shepherd concludes.
