Combrinck forms part of the larger BDL team structure established by BI, with a dedicated and focused approach to core market segments. These segments are Mining, Agriculture, Sugar, OEMs, Steel, FMCG, Automotive, Services and Infrastructure, and Wholesale and Retail.

BI has a solid footprint in the mining and quarrying industries, across all commodities, from coal to gold, Platinum Group Minerals (PGMs), nickel, diamonds, and aggregates. Combrinck has been tasked to facilitate BI’s existing relationships with the major mining houses, and to establish new ties in order to position itself as a complete solutions provider. The full basket of products represented by BI is suitable for the mining and quarrying industries.

While the branches located close to various mining operations will continue to interact on a ground-level basis in terms of technical back-up and support, Combrinck will oversee this interaction on a higher level to ensure ongoing client satisfaction. This includes important mining regions in Namibia, Angola, Zambia, Botswana, and Mozambique.

With 15 years’ industry experience, Combrinck will also look to develop new distribution partners in Southern Africa in particular. “Our aim is to add value to our mining clients by meeting all of their needs from a single point of contact, including maintenance and repair.”

Combrinck highlights that BI’s high-quality international brands and superior service support means it is ideally positioned to capitalise on growth opportunities in the mining and quarrying industries. “My main aim is to grow our market share here, and develop it into a leading sector for BI,” he concludes.
