The specialised direct importer and wholesale distributor will unveil the latest technology in this regard at Homemakers Expo 2017 Cape Town, to be held at the Cape Town International Convention Centre from 31 August to 3 September.

“Consumers are realising the importance of being independent from the grid, and simultaneously having an uninterrupted electricity supply to guarantee the safety and security of their families,” EM spokesperson Lizanne Scholtz comments.

In this regard, EM offers products such as Mercedes Benz energy-storage units and Hager KNX home automation systems. Available in wired and wireless options, the latter technology will make installations in new or existing structures a dream for any electrician.

“We have entered into a joint collaboration with Hager,” Scholtz reveals. The group is a leading supplier of solutions and services related to electrical installation systems for residential and commercial properties and industrial applications.

Hager’s KNX technology promises to make life easier for South African homeowners. “For example, you can switch off all lights, close the blinds, and switch on the alarm system with a push of a single button, or via your smartphone,” Olivier Cassayre, Export Area Manager, Southern Africa, adds. Technical experts will be available on the EM stand to assist customers in selecting the correct products for their specific needs.

Homemakers Expo 2017 is billed as Cape Town’s favourite home improvement, décor, design and lifestyle expo. More than 35 000 trade and consumer visitors will be treated to a comprehensive display of the top brands and local craftsmanship, all under one roof.

“Typical customers expected at our stand are people who value quality products at a reasonable price, with the main focus on optimising the management of their energy efficiency and home security,” Scholtz concludes.
